DIY Center Console Removal // Qi Charger Swap

I decided that I really hate the Qi charging pad enough to replace it with the cubby, so here is a how-to video on taking your center console out and swapping that bad boy.

Nice work! I pulled my center console a few years ago when I installed carbon fiber side panels. Kind of a PITA, lol. I did a video on it as well. Wasn't a ton of info on pulling them so it was quite an adventure! LOL.

As for the charging pad.. I'm tempting to try and 3d print something to snap into place to allow for larger phones to sit in there with some kind of wireless charging pad booster or something... hmmm. Cubby does look nice though!

That's one feature my son's 17 1SS has that I like over the charging pad in mine. I think that will be the next change I do.

Thanks for the video. I just ordered the parts to put the cubby in.

I'm surprised no one makes a replacement to the charging pad that will accommodate larger phones.

Installed the cubby today. I was able to do it without removing the console. I just removed the six bolts and was able to lift the back up. I used plastic trim tools to help lift it up in the back and to put it back in without having to lift the rear seat. Thanks for the video. Without it I would have not known what screws/bolts to remove.

Awesome! I figured it could be done in the car, I just wanted the extra space to work on it at the tool bench.
