Nothing but prays and luck to you.

The ease, amount, and lack of care from GM regarding the security of these cars is concerning.

not tryna add any salt to your open wounds...but really curious on how much $$$ did you shell out on all those mods? Also, seems like Texas is tryna better California when it comes to Camaro Thefts. Also goes without saying, sorry to hear this buddy.

Since I'm also in DFW I'm curious, did it get stolen from a parking lot while you were out or was it in a residential neighborhood?

RIP, it's either been parted out or it's going to show up on a video online of someone doing donuts with it.

Assholes.

Sorry to hear that man. Dallas is a horrible city and they refuse to prosecute criminals. The one who was in my car that was stolen had many previous felonies, was out on bond, had a gun on him when he was caught in my car. The DA released him yet again, with 2 years of probation. Here is how my car was found:
https://bid.cars/en/lot/0-38070897/2...FE1R76M0125696
Obviously the stickers and black paint wasn't my doing. They cut the exhaust out, had trashed the interior (horrible odors, New Port cigarettes on the floorboard, cheap 50 cent cigar wrappers everywhere in the car), you know, the typical things those sorts of people do.

I can guarantee you that you do not want your car back after what they'll do to it.

I have to ask, did you have any anti-theft devices? OBD Port Lock at least? I am trying to gauge how far they went, but man it really sucks right now. I was just in DFW worried about this exact same thing. Thieves that don't get prosecuted only become more emboldened. We really need to do something about this non-sense.

They use to hang horse thieves. Both are stealing your mode of transportation. I don't see a difference. Same act, same punishment.

The justice system is not meant to protect law abiding citizens. It is now used as a political stunt, catch and release. You're in Austin, here is the list of arrested when they did the street take overs last year.
https://www.austintexas.gov/news/aus...over-incidents

One of the individuals on that list is the one who was driving my car when he was caught. The Travis county DA dropped all charges on him instead of locking him and those up. So as you can guess he (they) have no fear of the punishment and their arrest is just a small setback. That gives them the ability to just continue to do more and more crime without any punishment, even if they kill someone.

Yea Im aware of our crooked DA's in Travis CO. It's bull... ...I've spoken up against supporters of this nonsense in Austin more than once but only to be mocked and belittled. I am very upset with this mess.

Back on topic, I hope the OP gets compensated for the loss of his car and all his mods.

It really is a terrible thing, it doesn't have to do with race but the lack of punishments which is terrible, I have no faith in the court systems anymore. And yes, back to topic, I'm done with my Monday rant.

I live between Austin and San Antonio in New Braunfels.. it's not yet super bad with car thefts compared to Dallas and Houston but it's definitely increasing. Should be justified to delete car thieves on the spot legally.

Did you have any theft deterrent? (steering wheel lock, OBD-II port lock, other disablers)???

Sorry this happened to you...
