Savageese Camaro 6 (1LE) video has arrived

It's finally here!

They are some of my favourite reviewers and I was hoping to see what Mark's opinion was on the SS (1LE or not). He reviewed the ZLE a long time ago but considered it too extreme, and I always had it in the back of my mind that the SS might be a car that he really likes. Based on the title, it looks like it hit the mark.

Holy shit, I've been waiting for them to cover this car. Thought they wouldn't once it was out of production, can't wait to watch.

I can’t thank jack and the guys there enough. They wanted to make this video but just didn’t have time and cars. It was a tight deadline for us and me heading to nationals but there were awesome in getting the car checked over after they were done with it to make sure she was set for scca solo nationals. Cheers guys!

Great vid, about 5 years too late to spark interest in sales. But a definite must watch even for the 1LE guys that already know how great their cars are. Thanks for sharing.

I'm glad they finally did a SS review. The ZLE review from a few years ago was cool, but majority of Camaro owners own the SS or LT1. Sadly it is too late.....

Thanks for loaning your car for their review and glad they finally responded to my (and probably many of us) request. Any idea why there were complaining about the brakes giving up quickly?

I'm on track Day 28 with mine and never had any brake fade with OEM pads and Castrol SRF.

You don't have to search too far on here to find loads of people suggesting to replace the OEM pads and fluids for track use. It's even a sticky thread on the 1LE section.

Oem pads and fluid. Also it was the hottest day all summer there. I’ve had the same issue at some hot autocrosses. Pads and fluid should be changed I seems.

I'm well aware of that, but also aware there are some of us (me included) who choose to track the OEM pads (albeit with Castrol SRF fluid) and have found they work perfectly fine and do not fade. I'm on year 4 and my 4th set of front pads.

My question to the owner of the car was what the status of his pads and fluid was, as it seemed odd to me that Savageese had problems after only a lap or two. As the owner has now responded (OEM fluid and pads), my guess is it's the GM OEM fluid that was the problem.

Doesn't matter at this point. Waste of 17 minutes that I have no desire to give them.

I agree. Although I still prefer Thomas at Throttle House's reviews of the 1LE. Throttle House's first one was in 2018 and they did another review when they reviewed the new Z in 2022, where Thomas absolutely raved about the SS 1LE and called it the best track car for the money. All those of us who have owned a 1LE know how good the car is and what a bang for the buck it is. Too bad GM really gave up on the car after the 2019 refresh.

I still miss my 1LE from time to time, even though I now have a ZL1. The 1LE is such as good car.

Thanks for letting them review it! How many of these have you bought and sold now?

Good luck at Nats and make sure you beat all Mustangs! I couldn't make it this year due to covid issues but plan on next year.

That’s what this video was supposed to be. A sort of tribute to a car gm left behind. They talked with a bunch of engineers on the project. This was supposed to be more like their c6zo6 video. Some issues came up with that and I’m sure I’m now allowed to say or wana get them in trouble.
