I smell BS. Recaro makes so much cash simply licensing their name to OEMs to put on seats, they don't need to do anything else to stay in business.

I was hoping someone mentioned this. My 1LE seats are literally OEM seats with a Recaro nameplate slapped on. The bolstering and design are the same.

Imagine that: Private Equity destroys a newly acquired business, after stripping it of value and assets. Shameful.

If you think the 1LE seats are the same as the base seat then you haven't sat in a base seat. They absolutely have different bolstering.

100% this

On a slightly unrelated note I recently discovered my knees never touch the kneepads with the Recaro’s. I remember having to clean my old white knee pads constantly on the regular seats but now it’s much easier. Another plus of the Recaro’s

Agree they are different than base seats, but made in a RECARO factory and then sold to GM? Or do OEMs slap Recaro labels on their own seats for a licensing fee?

There's some disagreement on this, I'm not sure... I assumed they just licensed their name to OEMs, but maybe they do in fact manufacture them.
