How to Reset the "Change engine oil" Msg

Would someone please explain how to reset the "change engine oil" msg? I have tried numerous suggestions including the one in the owners manual and still getting the msg on dash. TIA!

which procedure did you use, there are 2 in my owner's manual. You might need to try the other one.

Option 1
Code:
1. Display the REMAINING OIL
LIFE on the DIC. See Driver
Information Center (DIC) 0 117.

2. Press and hold SEL on the DIC
while the Oil Life display is
active. The oil life will change
to 100%.
Option 2
Code:
1. Display the REMAINING OIL
LIFE on the DIC. See Driver
Information Center (DIC) 0 117.
2. Fully press and release the
accelerator pedal three times
within five seconds.
This may need to repeated one or more times
Quote:
The system is reset when the
CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON
message goes off.

If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON
message comes back on when the
vehicle is started, the engine oil life
system has not been reset. Repeat
the procedure.
Another option is if you have a OBD scan tool, you should check the special functions. A lot of the tools have an option not just to reset the oil life but also to set it to any particular value you want.

I did this myself, reset it to 15% so to remove the warning when I had scheduled the oil change, but didn't want to fully reset it.
