Do not leave children or pets inside of vehicles
Annual PSA and a "Did you Know" regarding modern GM products. Summer is heating up and I know some of you will be tempted to leave the vehicle running with children or pets inside with the A/C running while you pop into a store for a few minutes, or restaurant for a quick bite. Don't do it, even if you're able to lock the car and carry an extra key. Definitely don't do it if you expect the vehicle to stay running for more than 30 minutes.
Modern GM vehicles will only run for 30 minutes with the fob left inside and then they will shut down. See here in the Camaro owner's manual: |

This should be a sticky. But I only leave my dog in the car with a/c for max 5 minutes and while I can see him in it. (starbucks/donut place). Great post.

Please don’t ever leave your children or pets in any car unattended for any length of time, no matter the reason.

Read today a small child died in AZ. Father said AC was on. But it was 111 degrees.
I know in my VW, you put it in park and it basically shuts off the engine. You don’t get anything near 30 minutes. Sad when this happens. Can’t imagine a parent that was “only gone 5 minutes” and having to live with it.

Hey, Do NOT leave your HUSBAND in the car while you "run in and grab something" either!! We all know that "run in and grab something" means you will be gone anywhere from 1 to 2 hours!!

Also, it is well known a dog is much better than a wife. Don't believe me? Try locking your wife and your dog in the trunk for 3 hours. When you open it back up, which one is glad to see you?

I feel leaving your child or pet unattended in the car with the AC running is like putting a life jacket on a toddler and then letting him play in the pool by himself. YOU may feel like you're doing the right thing, but, the rest of us know better.
