Something weird I noticed about 6th gens
Why are 16-18s much more common than 19-24s despite there being more years with the facelift?
This mainly applies to the SS and ZL1s because I see tons of post face lift LS to LT1s but I RARELY see another post 2019 SS. Seems weird that a 3 year car is much more common than a 6 year/Current car. |

I think it's just about where you live. I have a white 16-18 SS that I see in my area, but other than that, I rarely see any other pre-facelift SS cars. Not that I see the later years a lot, but definitely see 'em a lot more often.

1) Gen 3 S550 A10 Mustang GT 2) Challenger sales took off even more so (incredible really as the car kept getting older). 3) 2020-2022 GT500 4) Redeye, REWB, Superstock 5) LT1- fantastic value if you are a gear head. |

They certainly started producing less of them in 2019 & 2020 on. In 2018 Camaro’s were 15%-20% off MSRP, and the inventory wasn’t moving. GM cut production down in 2019 to less cars, and then of course 2020 came and there were even less produced. A number of them are garage queens that are rarely seen to start with. As younger crowd gets the 2016-2018 cars they are more used for daily driving and seen more, and nothing wrong with that. I drove a 98 Trans Am WS6 daily for 8 years. In the end there’s a combination of reasons and probably other reasons too.

Yeah I've noticed the same. Rarely see any 19+ on the road around here, almost never any SS trims. I assume it correlates to the declining sales like others have said. Plus, from what I've seen at least, the Camaro's tend to be owned by more mature people who garage and treat them well. I see a lot more daily'ed Mustangs that are driven by the younger crowd and driven hard.

Cost...16-17 1SS cars could be had for around 32-35k new. 2SS cars for around 42-45k. 2019 price increased. LT1 model came around and by the second year of production they were more than a 1SS. By 2021 LT1 models were over 40k and 2SS cars were pushing 50k. I have seen 2023 and 2024 2SS cars sitting on lots for like 54k. Now I don't know about you but I would buy a used low mileage ZL1 before I spent 54k on a SS. Matter of fact a SS doesn't really interest me at that price. I am sure many others thought the same. It's not a great daily, and the price point pushed buyers away. Those that can afford a 50k + toy to sit in the garage are probably looking at other options such as a C8.

I disagree about using it for a daily driver. I find it to be an excellent daily driver. I live 6 miles from work so the miles pile on slowly. It's well mannered enough to sit in bumper to bumper traffic, clutch leg fatigue is annoying but tolerable. It's an absolute beast on the highway. It's comfortable enough for a long road trip. The non-MRC suspension is firm but not punishing on our shitty NJ roads. Obviously its not the most practical car. If I'm hitting Lowes or Home Depot for something large I'm taking the wife's Malibu. If there's a snow storm I can work from home. If it's raining it gets wet. Finally, I do understand my situation is not the same as everybody else but this works for me. I get to enjoy my hobby everyday and most importantly, the wife is cool with it. -Ray |

Same on the good deal here. I got my 2016 1SS M6 with NPP and Mag Ride for 32k, and the list price was 40,500. Hell of a deal. Had 400 miles on it because it was a dealer trade and driven from one dealer to the other, but took a gamble. Just topped 111k, and it's still going strong.
