Questions about stock ZL1 wheels and tires
Hello Z Nation,
I’ve done several searches and don’t feel that I’ve hit the spot on my inquiries. Here’s the down and dirty that I’m trying to find out: Side note - the Z has not been lowered. All stock still. 1: Does anyone know if 295/30/20 will safely fit on the FRONT ZL1 wheels? - Any rubbing or other known issues to upping it from 285 to 295? 2: Does anyone know if 315/30/20 will safely fit on the REAR ZL1 wheels? - Any rubbing or other known issues to upping it from 305 to 315? - Will upping to 315 require the movement of the rear cables in the wheel well? 3: Width & Offset of the stock ZL1 FRONT wheels? 4: Width & Offset of the stock ZL1 REAR wheels? I’m looking at replacing the GY’s with new tires with future plans of going to aftermarket wheels that are slightly wider than our stock ZL1 wheels (more concave). In the meantime, I’m wondering if I can get the tires now and wheels will come later. In doing so, I just want to be sure there won’t be any issues with wheel / tire fitment and no rubbing or other damage causing issues. I greatly appreciate all input here. I’m just looking to get some real world experience from the Z Team Members. I’m not looking to track the Z. Just spirited drives on the twists and turns. Thanks everyone!!

Myaybe this'll help...
https://apexwheels.com/fitment-guide...-fitment-guide I know that the height is causes the issue with the harness. So anyways above the stock 30 aspect will potentially cause an issue. But it's like a 10 minute or less job to complete with very basic tools in your driveway or garage. So why not move it? |

I actually just went down this same patch... I reached out to Apex as I was looking for wider tires than stock size and different wheels. I was willing to change out the stock wheels for other wheels that would allow wider tires. Although I hinted wheel/tire combos for the track. This is what Corey at Apex responded with:
Cory S. (Apex Wheels) Jun 14, 2024, 3:24 PM PDT Hi Scott, thanks for reaching out. Here's what I would suggest for your combo: https://apexwheels.com/vehicles/chev...ize=18x11-et35 For tires, I'd run 275/35-19 up front and then you could go with a number of rear tires, but 305/40-18 or 315/40-18 are common choices among the drag tire offerings.
