Convertible top replacement instructions

Hello,

I have a 2017 convertible.

Wondering if anyone has been able to find instructions on how to replace the convertible top? My back window is on the verge of flying off my car I think I have the new one on order and should be here next week. I'm fairly technically savvy and if it's not too difficult I don't see why I couldn't do it myself but I am having an incredibly difficult time finding anyone who has done it before, any videos outlining how to do it, or any even general instructions on where to start, etc.

Hoping someone here has found something?

Forum member Uk2019 has replaced his top twice himself. Unfortunately, he has not provided a how-to write up.

Doing a Google search, I found this Technical Service Bulletin.

I also found this procedure for replacing the top cover on 2011-12 Camaros. I would imagine some of the information may apply to the 6th Gen tops.

A lot of dealers don't even replace tops. My 2012 had to have the top replaced under warranty. I went to one of the biggest dealers in metro Detroit and they sent it out to a trim shop. If you are serious, I would start with getting a service manual.

2nd the recommendation on a manual. I wouldn't want to attempt it without one.

OP if you're willing to drive down to Bradenton, Convertible Tops and More is excellent and does the tops for local Chevy dealers Cox and Sunset.

OP Did you ever figure this out? I'm in a similar situation now. I just received a brand new convertible top but have no idea who is going to replace it (or how I'm going to get it to them, it's on a skid).

Going to bump this topic up, as I am in need of replacing my top, because of the rear window delamination issue. Any found any resource for installation of new top ?

Me three! I’m considering one off of a junk yard but I am afraid of what I don’t know.

I see this thread still going, so I'll update y'all on my progress. I had a brand new convertible top sitting on a skid from the factory. It was difficult to find anyone to take on the job. I was in New England at the time (I move around a bit) so that may have been part of the issue. Even 4-5 Chevy dealerships in the area said they don't have anyone on site to do the job (love that). Apparently, it's pretty technical, given that you need to get all sorts of sensors to work in-sync (allegedly).

I ended up having Best Chevy in Hingham, MA do it. The guy's name was Ivan. He told me he had never done a replacement before, but he did an amazing job. It's been about 8 months since the replacement, and I've had no issues. I was lucky that my insurance covered the replacement. If they hadn't, I probably wouldn't have bothered fixing it, way too expensive.

I've been in love with my vert since day 1, but this will probably be my first & last convertible unless I win the lottery. I'm at almost 70k miles now, and I've already made memories in the car to last a lifetime.
