2024 2SS Factory Tires

My new 2024 Camaro 2SS is a daily driver so I had all-season tires installed and have no need for the factory tires. The factory tires are:

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 RunOnFlat
Front size: 245/40-20
Rear size: 275/35-20

The rear tires have 150 miles on them. Since the tire shop ordered the wrong size front tires I had to wait a couple of days to get them installed, so the front tires have 184 miles on them.

The production date is 4223, or mid September 2023, which makes sense since my car was built in November 2023.

Tirerack lists the front tires at $385.99 each and the rear tires at $417.99 each for a total of $1,607.96 for all four.

I'll let them go for $1,200. I'm just trying to cover the cost of the all season replacements. The wife was not overjoyed when she found out the brand new car needed new tires. Local pick up preferred as shipping will be expensive.

Well, the main reason is that there is no market for these Goodyear runflat tires. No trim exists whose owners would want to "upgrade" to them, and when the time comes to replace the original kit on an SS, even those that wore it down and didn't ditch them outright (say, for all-seasons like OP did or better summer tires) tend to want to get quality tires instead.

I agree, if you get $500 for them, you'd be lucky...

Yeah, I figured that. I bet these tires are pretty good when it's warm and dry out. They picked up every pebble and grain of sand and sent it around the wheel wells...and hell, it was below 50 degrees. Sounded like loose change in the clothes dryer. Drove me nuts. Sucks that I didn't have an opportunity to try them in the summer. I get that added un-sprung weight is a negative, but not having to stress over not having a spare tire was kind of nice, It's also winter here in the Northeast. Once the fair weather Camaros come out of hibernation demand may pick up.

Curious, what did you replace them with?

My SS isn't a daily. I will not use the level of performance the F1 AS3's can provide on the street. I'd rather have a more touring/all-season, but can't convince myself to pull the trigger on brand new tires on a brand new car. I do not like summer-compound tires for the street....we live down a long gravel drive. Need I say more? lol

I just sold a set new takeoffs with 130 mikes. Runflats are tough sell. I got $250 for them

I replaced the factory tires with Goodyear Eagle Exhilarate all season tires in the stock sizes. They seem pretty good in the rain and when the roads are dry. They also like to pick up pebbles and fling them in the wheel wells, just not quite as bad as the F1's.
