Tow hook hole cap?
I got my zl1 preowned and I’m wondering if I’m missing something.
Is there supposed to be a cover or cap covering the hole where the front tow hook goes? Thank you |

No cap provided
I tell unsuspecting observers that I have a "James Bond" clone and that is my machine gun access .
Seriously , my car when new never came with a cap over the tow hook mounting point .

Mine did not come with a cap/cover either. I put a tow hook in it!

On a related note, can the tow hook that comes with the car be left installed, or should it be removed when not in use? I know it isn't the most aesthetically pleasing compared to aftermarket tow hooks, but I'd rather install it and then have it in case I need it rather than try to put the thing on in an emergency.

None of the year model ZL1s came with a cover for that.

Many thanks! The manual is curiously sparse on this, so I appreciate the insight. Would blue loctite be recommended on those threads to keep it in place? |

The manual doesn't say anything about this because GM, and most people, see this as a only need to use when I need to use it kind of thing.

Yes, blue Loctite would work and also if the threads are long enough to allow you to add a nut (jam nut ) that allows you clock the eyelet where you want it when it’s tight.

Here’s what I’m thinking, this is a cheap plastic cap I cut up to make a mock up. I’m going to look for a 3D printer person that can make it fit in there so it won’t fall out
