Going lean on top end. Getting a charging code on start up that goes away
The alternator has 1 plug with 2 wires and the main battery terminal.
pull the black or back cover off and y will see the 2 prong connector on the inside with 3 screws holding it. One screw is over by and connected to that terminal and was loose. The battery would stay charged but at wot it would stop charging and when it does the car will go lean for what ever reason. low and high side pressures were staying so I dont know why unless its something to do with low voltage to injectors. Tighting the screw with some lock tight resolved the problem |

I think WOT is one of those situations where the active power management fully disengages the alternator, as well as the A/C compressor. So not surprised it stops charging at WOT.

This thread implies that alternator rpm (too high) may be the problem. Apparently the commutator brushes start skipping and output drops.
