Short Pinch Welds for Jack Pads
I recently got these Jack pads off Amazon (several posters claim these are the same as the ZL1addons version). I put them on the outermost jack points of my 2024 SS1LE.
As you can see, the front pads’ pinch weld channel is roughly the same depth as the pinch weld. On the back, the pinch welds aren’t even close. Everything I’ve seen says the weight should be on the pinch weld itself, not the metal at the top of the welds. I question this as most of the force on the pinch welds appears to go directly to these areas. What do you think? Would you trust these, in the back? I’m considering putting a piece of flat stock in the channel to at least put some pressure on the weld itself. Not sure why the last picture posted incorrectly…..

It's fine, mine are the same way, I've been running them for almost 2 years.
But yeah they probably shouldnt be that way I wouldn't think. Now that I think about it I've never gone down there to check if there is any visible damage but the jacking points are still where I put them and they aren't bent or pointing in any odd directions. |

Mine have been on the same way since 2018, the pinch welds haven't bent or suffered any damage.
I'm not a chassis engineer, but from a physics standpoint putting the weight on the side of the pinch welds is even better. The pinch weld (green arrow on my nursery style drawing below) is probably made strong enough to distribute the force onto the rest of the body structure, but not actually putting any force on it (blue arrows) through the use of a lift pad should be even better.

According to Zl1 Addons the pinch weld is supposed to sit on the bottom of the slot
Different knockoffs may have different slot depths. |

What is the slot depth of the ZL1 Add Ons vs the multiple ones available on Amazon? Can you guys measure the slot depths of the ones you have and the Brand, then post them? Are the pinch welds the same height on every car?

I had the Amazon ones on my 2016. Bought another pair for my 2023. I noticed the new ones stick down further. I didn’t actually check if the weld is touching the bottom of the slot but did check to make sure the top of the blocks are flush against the car.
I actually like that these new ones stick down further because that means my jack has more space as on my last car I had to be VERY careful my jack wasn’t touching the bottom of the rocker because the blocks were flush with the rocker opening Imho if what the blocks are against is metal then I think we should be fine. I’ve lifted my car up several times with the new blocks and haven’t had any issues.

On my particular Camaro, the front pinch weeds are significantly longer than the rears. No idea how this compares to other Camaros. On mine, I need different depths for front and back. These fit great, in the front.

Temu had a 4 pack special for $2.99. I'm not sure if it was because of Prime day. Everyday is Prime day at Temu.
