DO I need Injectors or fuel pump

Car is apart and want to make sure I do it right the first time.

That said mods are:
1-7/8 catted ARH headers
Ported blower (Kong X-port) 2.5 (stock size pulley for now)
NW 103 TB
Roto Fab Big gulp
Flex fuel E85 and pump (93) tune

You'll need a low side to run any sort of E content.

Yeah JMS booster at a minimum. Not far behind the low side will be the HPFP dropping off due to the stock cam.

The Kong X port needs to spin faster to make the gains you want so yes you will need to change pullies. Joshinator makes a good point about a cam change and go to a 38% fuel cam lobe when you do for the high side.

Kinda figured. I was just going to do E and headers then it spiraled... as I'm sure most of you know.

Really just looking to keep cooler temps when on track. Greg said to go with the X-port as it helps a lot with air temps, same with E. I'm having the hub changed for easier pulley swaps should I feel the need to drop down, but ill need cooling mods like a larger HX to make it through a track session.

As long as it's not the injectors which I thought were good til about 750whp...since the blower is off and they are right there. Ill see what happens on the rollers, but ill add the pump to my cart.

I have tuned a few Zl1's with those mods and they are limited to around E50 with stock high side, stock cam, and a JMS low side @ .84 lambda. They make around 680-700whp. If you do a cam then you can get to 760-780whp on E50. Want to run more E than you will need +30 injectors and LPE HPFP. Or do THP port injection.

There is only one gas station in CT that I know to have E85. Ill only be running it on track days to help with temps and reduce the chances for detonation.

Order a barrel of E98 and just mix it with your pump fuel and keep it around E50. Should last you a year unless you put a lot of miles on the car.

I’m one of the cars King has tuned. Add the HPFP, +30 injectors and JMS booster and you can make 740whp on e50 using the stock pullies. It is not true that you need to spin the Stage X port faster to make power, if you are using e85. Pulley’s on 93 will just add more heat.
This route isn’t cheap but it’s a winning formula.

The X port on stock pulleys will make more power past 3500 RPM or so. But below that it will make less torque as air velocity slows down. It does make the car feel a little sluggish as boost is slower to build down there and on the hit. But since the car spends 99% of its time in the power band above 4800 RPM it will certainly be faster by a lot.

I think this is why people say there X port needs to be spun harder. I find that putting a 2.38 pulley on an X port blower makes up for the torque below 3500 rpm.

If you are feeling anything resembling “sluggish” with the X Porting and e50 then your butt dyno is far more tuned than mine LOL. This car is beast at all RPMs. Boost hitting any harder down low would almost certainly necessitate a warmed drag radial.

If you don't want to hear any of the babbling, just look at the dyno graph at 13:34 into the video. It shows the x port has less torque below 3500 rpm or so. Not by much, and maybe it is just their tuning. But I definitely noticed the difference when I went from stock blower with a 2.38 pulley to a X port with a 2.38 pulley. I could feel the loss down low but then it turned into a beast up top. My car was E60 for both the stock and ported blower.

It's not a lot by any means and I would guess that maybe bone stock untuned to x port and tuned with stock pulley, the low end would still be more. But tuned OEM blower vs tuned X port is what I was referencing.

PS, I'm sensitive and so is my butt

I really wouldn't mind a little less torque down low as I autox and road course the car. it will help me ease into the throttle without blowing the car sideways in the turns.
