New 2023 2LT V6 6MT first impressions

Finally picked her up yesterday and drove home through the TN and NC mountains. 250 miles without ever driving a modern Camaro before. For the first 150 miles there wasn’t a straight section on the road. Look up HWY321 on the map. Road was bonkers and the car was a dream. Man is this thing composed in the corners. I spent most of my time in 3rd and 4th gear….trying to not abuse the new engine. I kept the revs moving the whole time. So much fun. This motor has plenty of power for me and the exhaust note was intoxicating. I have the dual-mode exhaust. Putting it in Sport mode was a hoot. My buddy following me had his windows down and said it sounded excellent. The manual trans felt very good with solid shifts when going. A little stiff putting it in 1st but that will hopefully smooth out over time. Getting into reverse will take some getting used to as well. The visibility was fine after 20 minutes of driving. The interior is a nice place to be and I love the cooled seats! I also got a few thumbs up I believe due to the color, Vivid Orange Metallic. It really pops. Anyway, I think I’m going to love this car as my daily to work for sure. BTW, the mileage indicator showed 27.9 MPG when I got home. I’ll take that! Happy owner!

Congratulations and do post up some pictures. I had a 2LT and yeah, it was glued to the road and turned on a dime even at the stock wheel and tire sizes. If you're an MPG warrior, which from your post I presume you aren't, you should be able to easily extract 32-34 mpg if you let AFM kick in often. Does your 2LT have blind spot indicators, or is it a 3LT-only feature?

321 is one of my favorite twisties, heh. Not many straight sections indeed, but you just need to veer off to I-40 if you want that straight and boring
These curvy mountain roads (with near zero shoulders, I might add) are great for testing when one's personal pucker factor kicks in as one probes handling limits at 1.5 - 2 - 2.5 - 3x the PSL. Theoretically speaking, of course, I would absolutely never drive faster than the speed limit.

Thanks, mine doesn’t have blind spot monitoring. I will be looking to upgrade the wheel and tire situation at some point. I’d like to have at least 275 all around and maybe 19in instead of 20in. This is for a bit more grip as well at looks.

I am a bit bummed that my golf driver will not fit in the trunk no matter how I angle it.

Congratulations! In the mountains you got one up on anyone else with a bigger engine because you are way less nose heavy so it must be a dream in them mountain corners. And since nobody fits in the backseat, you could always drop it down and then you could fit four or five sets of clubs.

Congrats Mid_Life. Great choice of vehicle I do hope you post a few pics soon.
I also hope you haven't waited too long for your "Crisis". They say 50 is the new 40 or whatever to make it sound like 50 is not getting old-HA!
Sold a perfectly fine Tundra to get a new 5th gen when I was 52 (first mid-life crisis). Waited too late I soon realized. Had my first heart attack at 54! So I realized I need to pick up the pace. Got the 6th gen in'17 (#2 crisis). Now I'm ready for the next step that I can squeeze past the wife. Good luck with all your future crises!

Thanks sir! Just turned 58 and bought myself a present! I've been wanting a Gen 6 for a long time and figured since they were stopping production I better find a new one before I can't. Here's some pics....

Beautiful color, congratulations again, this was a great score indeed. I remember watching a Camaro exhaust video that had the same V6 with the NPP, and it sounded remarkably good. The author even stopped the narration for minutes to let viewers enjoy the sound.

...now quickly GET OUT from underneath the pine tree and its yucky sap, my friend

Would -really- want to park that beauty near all of that flying debris?

Congratulations - love the VOM color - almost traded my Summit White when it was released.
