Hi all,
I got my radio replaced about a month ago (due to water damage) and everything seems to be working fine again except for my navigation. I usually use CarPlay so this applies to both the built-in nav as well as any third party app I use such as Apple Maps or Waze. It starts out fine but once I start driving and making turns, my navigation starts to trip out and doesn’t know where I’m at so it reroutes multiple times. It also works fine as long as I’m driving straight, but as soon as I make a turn it goes bonkers until I drive straight again for a while. The dealership suggested that I change the antenna, so I did but still had the same issue. I’m hoping someone might have some suggestions that I can try out to try and avoid taking it to the dealership again. The issue also persists regardless of whether my phone is connected or not so I know it’s an issue w/ the car. Thanks in advance! |

Had a similar thing happen to me. Turned out that when they replaced the "component" in the location over/behind the glove box, they put it in upside down. The gyroscope function was screwed up with this position.
I'm not sure the name of the component is why I didn't call it by name but it controlled the radio and navigation. (I lost some of the apps that were on the original unit from the factory) When it was working incorrectly, it would turn the wrong way at intersection and sometimes make 360 degree loops while driving straight, have location off by several blocks at times. Flipped and went to work perfectly! |
