Scott Settlemier and Ed Welburn
So I've been doing a lot of searching on the forum and have had the plan to buy a 6th gen Camaro for a while. Two names that seem to figure very prominently in the development of the 6th gen Camaro are Scott Settlemier and Ed Welburn. I've known of Ed for a while as GM's VP of global design from around 2005 until he retired in 2016. But it seems Scott is much more involved in Camaro history going back to maybe the 3rd generation F-bodies in the 1980s.
The reason I'm posting this is next year I would love to go to the Detroit Auto Show and if at all possible, if they might be around, to get them to sign my car. Or, if any members here on the forum reading this know them, or have contacts through work if you work at GM, or if you have any other way I could possibly meet them I'd be thrilled. Knowing that I will own the last model year of the last generation of Camaro as we know it, and they're the two gentlemen who are most prominently responsible for creating this beauty, it would be an honor to have their signatures on my shock towers!

Scott is Fbodfather here on Camaro5 and 6. Send him a PM. He has signed a LOT of cars. I don’t think he has been active here for a while though. A good guy.

Scott retired about 8 years ago.
Used to go to his mom's in Mars, PA annually for a GM and SLP Engineering Camaro and Firebird event. Dinner at her house Friday, show and cruise on Saturday and a large party on Saturday night. His cousin had a Chevy dealership that participated. Speaking of signing cars...I had his mom sign my Camaro which was her first autograph, for whatever that is worth.

I just talked with Scott just over a week ago at a local annual Camaro show (Camaro Superfest) here in Mi. He's loving the retired life and attends many Camaro events all over.
If he happened to be at the Detroit Auto Show, I'm sure he'd be more than glad to sign your car. |
