Speed Engineering Headers and Xpipe - Disappointing experience !!

Hi,

I just got my Speed Engineering 1 7/8 Headers with X-pipe, I ordered the headers from (wildhammermotorsports.com). The first looks at the headers were very disappointing

First, the headers and xpipe were packaged very poorly, its like a package you get in supermarket when buying food!!

Second, one of the headers outlets came bent (photo attached). I swear the headers looks like its been used as its dirty while the other set looked cleaner. This damage could be from the shipping company but if the package has been done properly this wouldnt of happened. I bought headers before from ARH and never it came like this.

Third, the welds are very very poor (photo attached)

Forth, one of the primary headers is welded in two areas, while the photos in Speed Engineering web does not show any welds !!

Fifth, the specially ordered 3 layer LT gasket came in bent as well !!

Honestly im very disappointed. I didn't even install it yet and already disappointed with poor quality and handling of the package. Please make your self a favor and pay more and get the premium quality of ARH or Kooks. I would of returned those for sure however im over seas gonna cost me a lot to ship back :(

Don't install those if you don't want more headaches. Junk

The problem is im overseas.. shipping back is very expensive which is almost 600$ alone.. i would be in better option just to buy a new headers and throw this piece of shit..

Funny thing, if you look at the review section at wildhammermotorsports.com someone else has faced the same quality issues, both primaries were damaged, photos also added in his review:

https://wildhammermotorsports.com/16...d-engineering/

This is a total scam im so furious honestly.. hope god punish them for this :(

You shouldn't have to pay return shipping if the item showed up damaged.

Not my experience at all, my headers came in perfect. I ordered them direct from SE for my C7. I loved them except the band clamps which I changed to the 3" since I had a couple leaks. They fit perfect. Sorry you had that these issues with yours. You should call Winderjammer since you purchased from them.

I know not all things made in China are junk, just most. That includes Speed Engineering headers - junk.

Kooks is what you should have gotten. More expensive, but the fit and don't have any of these problems.

I also have had good luck with SE products. I installed their 1 3/4 headers, y pipe and plug wires on my GMC Yukon. Had to do some minor clearancing but overall well worth the money.

At least the Speed Engineering, Texas Speed, OBX, etc. headers have the excuse of being made by communist child slave labor.

I am on my 5th set of Kooks in as many vehicles and each set fit perfect every time and never had to clearance anything.

I have installed 2 sets of 2 inch and they fit easy and perfect. Same thickness as kooks. very strong. In fact they were so good i bought another set had them coated and sold the first set. I was still money way ahead.

I run custom fit by me resonators Vibrant Performance Ultra-Quiet Resonators 1142. It takes quite a bit to get them to fit in that space. but I run them right off the header to the stock exhaust.

I have to take a block of wood and a 3pd hammer to drive them on and off the header. Thats fuking strong to take that beating, and I mad 930 with a stock cam with them. Still running strong. Might be an lt4 cam specs some debate on that.

One of the very few things in the car world that are well worth the money. I dont know where their made and im not sure anyone else does either. Really dont care. In this country its all the same no matter what u buy. That tv u watch aint made in this country either.

no offense meant but i do have actual experience with the 2 in product. Bunch of people are down on them (sales people I suspect) (not you) unjustly so.

I have dropped them an email yesterday. No response yet. Lets see how will they stand behind their products and customer service.
