Anybody else trying to get a ZL1 Collectors Edition?

I’ve been on a couple of lists (including a couple of Hendricks) but not feeling very hopeful I will actually get an allocation. Anybody else trying to score one?

It'll be a no for me. I can't justify spending 15k or more on basically what is a cosmetics package. No interior upgrades or additional options no handling improvements, no power upgrades, and a car that basically will look like the one I already have. I guess second to last model year will have to do for me anyways. That said, those that are wanting to upgrade 3,4 or even 5 ot more model years newer, it may be worth it. . If you choose to pursue one, I wish you all the luck in the world to get what you're after! Hopefully you can get lucky and be one of the few that can get one!! I personally think you have a damn fine car as it is, being the 50th anniversary and all!!

I was eager to see what they were going to be but as a detail (hobby) guy, even for a garage go queen that paint is a no go. Really think this is a collector money grab. $15k is just too much for paint that is 8k on a Cadillac

If you want it, GO FOR IT, but if you don't have the whole car wrapped in PPF, road debris is really going to do a number on it if that 15k doesn't include some extra mils and durability additive of paint. Not sure it will have a "clear" to polish out imperfections?

I get it, I really do. You’re all probably going to think I’m nuts, but I’m not even a huge fan of the color (but yes I’ll be wrapping it right away). My dad has a numbers matching ‘67 that has been in our family for almost 35 years now. The Camaro is special to me. I had my beautiful Fifty, but sold it when my son was born a couple years ago because getting a car seat back there is virtually impossible. I am in a position now where I can comfortably afford a fun car again in addition to my daily for the kiddo. I had planned on a vivid orange ZL1 until the rumors of the farewell (collectors) edition starting floating around. How cool would it be to have a collectors edition to compliment the year one?

Here’s the 67. Not the greatest pic, but you get the idea.

Who says I’m not going to drive it? She won’t be my daily, but won’t be just a garage queen either. Cars like that deserve to be seen I think. I’m not looking at the car as an investment or anything. It’s not going anywhere.

Absolutely LOVE that story about the 67! I waited nearly 30 years to get my dream Camaro that I have now, so I can relate because my car is currently in my will to my 7 and 9 year old kids in hopes they'll keep it around for many years after I'm gone. I'd absolutely love a 67-69 myself as well! That said, I say if you are in a position to get a new Camaro then by ALL MEANS go try and get it! You deserve it and I really hope you get one if that is what you truly want at this point! Do what makes YOU happy! Especially since they're done at the end of January 2024.
GOOD LUCK to you!

Had two 1st gens myself. When the 5th gen concept was shown off to the press I saw it on the evening news and I emailed GM immediately and even got a call back asking for more of my opinion:
Build it and I will buy one. Ended up being a 6th but I kept my promise(think I was 19 when it was revealed, and I had just bought my 1969 RS 350, which I sold when I got married to pay off my wife's student loans, then we had kids...)

Get what you want! If I pass through NC in the future I'll want to see it, doubt too many will actually be out and about.

I'll pass on the ZL1 thanks. I had a 2023 SS built for me just the way I like it. Good enough for me. I still have my trusty old 63 as well to round out the garage.

Nope, as others have said.... the paint is ugly and the huge inflated price for decals and badges. I was considering maybe just a 2SS in Riptide Blue just to upgrade to the last year car, but I still like my HBM more and I still like the 16-18 better then the 19 and up front end refresh.

I would like the Garage56 ZL1 but no idea on where or how to order that? I am assuming it would be through Hendrick and a huge markup on it, going to only a few special people like Rick Hendrick himself.
