Noise from 2023 2SS
2023 2SS, 485 miles, oil level is good.
After it's warmed up, when I start from a stop, there's a ticking sound starting at 20mph & stopping once I get to about 40mph. It doesn't do it when idling at a stop or while idling in park. Anyone experience this or something similiar? Last edited by classicrockr; 06-17-2023 at 02:58 PM. |

Sound is related to vehicle speed rather than engine RPM? Does the sound change with direction (left turn, right turn, straight)? Maybe a loose lug nut? I would verify that the lug nuts are properly torqued.

Can you tell where it's coming from with windows up vs windows down? Check tire tread for objects?

Maybe injector tick too if it's not a super loud noise?
I notice it on mine during lower speed driving (<45MPH). Usually hear it more in the first 5-10 minutes but might just be because my ears haven't tuned it out. |

Had a friend that bought a new mustang several years ago. Complained about a speed dependent tick from under the car.
I said what if its a sticker on the driveshaft or some other rotating part that is coming off and slapping against the body? Eventually took it into the dealer and guess what? It was a sticker coming off the driveshaft. not saying that's your issue, but I woudl do a check under the car for stickers or labels on driveshaft or halfshalft/alxes or any other part that rotates with vehicle speed.
