HpTuners AFR NOT READING

Hello Everyone,

Had a local shop install and AEM wideband and they did not install the OBD2 portion of the wideband. My AFR is reading correctly so this is not the issue, but when I plug my MPVI into the car and open VCM Scanner to datalog, my car is not recording AFR. I assume this is because the OBD2 portion is not installed, but since the actualy AFR gauge reads, is there any way to get around reinstalling with this OBD2 plug. Appreciate it in advance!

Correct the gauge and the sensor will work fine together but not give you the AFR wideband data. You need to connect the OBDII adapter to power, power when only the ignition is on and then you will get Wideband data to the HPTuners. I used this video for how to get hooked to the correct power!

Here's what I have to do:

• Log into wifi,
• Delete contents of folder, HP Tuners\VCM Scanner\Vehicles
• Download current HPT Suite (or Beta) and MVPI drivers,
• Connect the HPT OBDII interface device to laptop and OBDII port,
• Crank the engine,
• Wait 20 sec. for WB sensor to warm up,
• Select Mode "obd2" on the AEM gauge,
• [Close HPT Editor] open Scanner.
• Click "connect to vehicle" in scanner,
• Vehicle>Repoll vehicle parameters,
• Open channel config and select your preferred config,
• Click "Start Scan", the WB channels should remain in list and display active scan data.
IF WB isn’t shown in scanner channel list with a connected icon----
• Vehicle>Repoll vehicle parameters,
• Click gear icon with green + "add channel"
• Search for wideband channel 'WB EQ'--- dbl click "WB EQ Ratio 1 SAE " under OBD2 [Do not click any External Inputs.]
• If "WB EQ Ratio 1 SAE " is shown in channel config, save config.
• Start engine, start scan, and the WB channel should display active scan data.
