*UPDATED* Front Factory Wheel Part Number Question?

Hi,
Needed a front rim for my 2019 ZL1 (Non 1LE)
Damn Michigan pot holes!
I ordered a new front rim from my local GM dealer.
Part number ordered was 23355790
I received the rim today. Part number on the outside of the box matched the above.
Upon examining the rim inside the barrel, the part number is stamped as 23442882.
Any explanation as to why the different part numbers?
Perhaps 23355790 is the final painted assembly and the 23442882 is the cast or forged part before the painting process?
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tyrolblue67

It could possibly just be the new revision part number for the same thing (i.e., the old part number points to the new one).

For what it's worth, my SS 1LE wheels (also made by Dicastal) follow the same pattern, a different part number is stamped into the wheel than the one used for ordering.

Oh...It gets better.
So earlier in the process, Belle Tire ordered me a new front tire because the pot hole ripped the sidewall.
I ordered the rim from a GM dealership online parts ordering website.
The website requires you to enter all the info about your car to make sure the part is correct for your car. Year, brand, model and trim.
So I get the rim after a week and pick it up at the dealership.
I load the new rim in my truck and drop off the rim to Belle tire for mounting, balancing and an alignment.
I drive the ZL1 to Belle Tire for my appointment to have the work done.
This is where it gets crazy.
After mounting, I see the car in the sun.
The rim is the WRONG color!
It two shades lighter than the original rims!
I'm sick to my stomach.
I immediately call the dealership when I get home and they tell me that the online parts guy isn't at his desk and he'll call me back in a few minutes.
No call back after an hour.
I then called back and asked to speak to the parts manager.
Now, I'm trying to get a hold of the dealership parts manager.
They tell me the parts manager isn't around and give them my phone number for a call back.
I asked when can I expect a call back.
They're telling me that they're experiencing a power failure and the parts manager will call me back when he get the message.
Hopefully, the dealership does the right thing and exchanges the wrong color rim for the right one.
How does GM produce a rim that isn't the correct color?
What a nightmare!

GM may have changed the color of the wheels for the later model ZL1s or the color was done wrong at the factory building the wheels. GM will make it right hopefully and get the right color wheel for your car.

I thought the same thing.
But I would think if the color did change on later models, they would have changed the part number.
When you go online, the part number is the same from 2017 thru 2023.
Hopefully, the dealership and GM will correct it by exchanging for the right part.
By the way.
The original wheel that was on the car from the factory had the same 23442882 part number stamped inside the wheel.
Just for future reference in case anyone else runs in to this issue.
Since the usage 23355790 ordered part number shows that it's the same wheel 2017-2023 model years.
Perhaps the supplier ran out of the correct paint color?
This is a photo inside of the original removed front rim.
