HUD vanished

Hey everyone. Im curious how many of you have had issues with HUD pulling a disappearing act? Ive seen few posts about disconnecting the battery for 5mins will reset it and possibly bring it back? I hope.. Only thing disconnecting battery is going to do is make me have to re-index windows correct? On my 5th gen that was the only thing. Car just turned 15k miles and dealer wants 190.00 to LOOK at it to determine if its under my CPO warranty. Im going to try disconnecting battery first but any input on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Mine disappeared after the installer installed tint on my windows. I fiddled with the HUD buttons a little bit, and it came back on.

Along with DamonZ28's advice, have you tried fiddling with the position and brightness settings? Maybe someone just messed with the controls...? Takes 10 seconds to try before you decide to plop money down onto the service department desk.

Just to echo what other have said....As I also found out with mine, the up-and-down height adjustment can make it disappear. They don't get used very often but the HUD controls are worth getting familiar with. Good luck.

Also remove your polarized sunglasses!
First time I got in the car with my Maui Jim's I freaked out because the HUD was much dimmer than usual.
If the brightness is down and you're wearing polarized sunglasses, it's possible it may be invisible!

Yeah, my sunglasses makes the HUD dimmer & green, l. I'm constantly adjusting the brightness depending on time of day & sunshine.

I test drove a 2SS and couldn’t get the HUD to work, tried pulling it up and down but no dice. Took mercy on the salesman after fiddling with it for a solid minute lol

I honestly turn the light down and adjust the up down... down until it's out of the way. I'm probably the odd man here, but I honestly do not like the HUD. I find it distracting...I like all the other features in my 2SS, but ya... I do not like the HUD.

My 21 ZL1 did this. Pulled over and turn off the car, let the car completely go to sleep. Restarted and it came back. Didnt do that again.

I also had this happen to my car once too. Did the same thing. Shut everything off and when I restarted the car it came back. It was sort of like having to reboot a computer that locks up. I don't know if this was a fluke occurrence or a known issue with HUDs that can occur. I don't recall ever having this happen on my C6 though.
