dealer said they have a allocation?

So a dealer said they have a allocation and told them i wanted a ZL1 1LE and they said they can put that in with a deposit fully refundable of 500. So my question is how likely will I be getting one and if I get one what will the timeline be as I was told 10-12 weeks from deposit to car on there lot?

TIA
Mark

Tell them to give you the GM workbench printout. On it will be a 6 character order number, then contact chevy chat, give them that order number and tell them to give you the status. If you are at 1100 for weeks on end it means that GM has not yet accepted your build. Many here, myself included, have been lied to by sales-peEple that they have allocations when they do not. In your case you dealer may actually have an allocation, but you should verify.

The allocation is probably for a ZL1 but most likely not a Zl1 1LE.

My advice is to get what you can because in 2024 is the end of production for the 6gen and ICE as we know it now!

Exactly right, I learned this the hard way myself until I found an actual honest Sales Manager. If they do indeed have an allocation, your status will go to event code 2000 immediately when the order is put in. If you know what options you want on a car, it literally takes a knowledgeable Sales person less than 3 minutes to order your car, print your work bench order and put it in your hand. It's literally as easy as ordering a pizza online. I have now ordered a couple other cars from the same dealer and have watched him do the process a couple of times. As stated above, 1100 means no allocation

Good luck!

All true! Example...I ordered a '23 C8 HTC back in late August of '22. I was told that only a couple of people were ahead of me and I should have the car delivered within 4 months. I got the GM Workbench sheet immediately and here 7 months later I am still at 1100 status. Bought an in stock '23 ZL1 Convertible instead!

Aside from trying to confirm they have an allocation, make sure to get the sales price in writing and signed on. They will add markup when it’s delivered if you don’t get the price signed on in writing.

There is none. That was the bad news, the good news is that some dealership employees selflessly offered to regularly check order statuses for us, head on over to https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=606888 with your order code and ask for a status update.

Alternatively, you can the chat feature at the main Chevy site, but they tend not to give you specific order status codes, so it's harder to find out exactly where your car is in the process.

Just to give you another example, I found a dealer with an allocation for a 2023 ZLE at MSRP back in September of 2022. Put down a deposit and everything and today this day they still don't know if and when they will ever get the car.

Luckily, just last week I found the exact spec ZLE I ordered with a $5k MSRP in another state and should be taking delivery in the next week or so. It would have been foolish of me not to take the deal as who knows when I would ever get the car I ordered.

Good luck!

If there is an allocation why is the car not getting built?
