T93 unlock now available from HPTuners!

https://www.hptuners.com/product/gm-t93-tcm-services/

Just saw this on a fb post and wanted to share. I didn't think we would see this day but trans tuning just got a lot cheaper!

Wow, this is surprising, kudos to HP Tuners. Only works on Global A architecture vehicles, so clearly a last mohican of an unlock, but hey, if it works with our cars, it works

(I wonder how much cloud computing capacity they had to allocate to brute force the encryption )

Especially when Hp tuners stated numerous times they had no plans to ever support the T93.

My guess is that the company who cracked the C8 ECU(bench flash only) also figured out the T93 and HPt bought into the rights because again they said numerous times that they were not going to support the T93. Could be wrong though...just speculating.

In conjunction with the latest parameter update HPTuners released for the T87A TCM, I think there are more parameters for the 10-speed than there were for the 8-speeds (https://forum.hptuners.com/showthrea...inition-revamp).

Most of them seem useful, at least to someone at my, newbie, level.

I see all these pages with my 8L90 (see below) and they're pretty comprehensive. Maybe their 10L90 support means more individual parameters, but I haven't seen a recent enough 10L90 trans tune file yet where these newly supported parameters are all captured.

Anyone wanting to upload their 10-speed trans tune to HPTuners' repository ?

I would, but for some reason, a later BETA screwed up my SHIFT RPM - PATTERN A, and made it "READ ONLY". Fortunately - I already adjusted it, but I have to remember to submit a HELP DESK TICKET tonight to get it fixed.

I just unlocked my T93 and installed it. There are a few differences in the T87a and T93s, at least for my car. They aren't milestone-must-have-type-improvements or anything though.

There are lots of small temperature/RPM-type differences in the definitions. Those tables, otherwise, are the same though. We're talking instead of 0* for the T87a, it will say 5*, for example, in the same cells. No biggie. It makes comparisons between the 2 look crazy, but otherwise - NO BIGGIE.

There are, also, more PATTERNS IN T93. Most of them probably don't apply, like PATTERN C under SHIFT SCHEDULING. I haven't spent much time to find where I could mess with PATTERN C, but I'm not too interested at this point. Under TM, there is a TORQUE REDUCTION for COAST DOWNSHIFTS, that has several more DEFINITIONS (e.g. CRUISE/ECO/QUICK SHIFT), but they aren't that interesting.

So - unless you have a specific situation where you NEED to run T93 in your car, and have already upgraded to T87a, I'm not sure it would be worth it. So far, there's no evidence altering any of the examples I listed (which, granted - are not all of them) that will enhance much of anything. BUT - that's for everyone else to decide. I just wanted to follow-up because I thought there could be a little more to add. This is still better than the T87a upgrade though - no doubt.
