Hesitation during WOT

I’m sure I’m late to the party my Zl1 has a hesitation at WOT before it takes off. I think I read on another post that a TB would stop this? And yes I’m tuned

I often hesitate before going WOT on the street, too... just close your eyes and stomp the pedal

(sorry, this was just so very tempting)
On a more serious note, as a quick sanity checklist, are you in sport or track mode and already in the correct gear (or engaged performance shift mode) when going WOT?

What gear? Hmm it’s a A10 so not sure. I’m not sure what mode but probably sport

This stuff doesn’t matter. In ANY mode when you go WOT in an A10 ZL1 it drops down almost instantly and moves out. It sounds like you think he’s describing having to wait for a downshift, but that’s not what I think he’s talking about. It sounds like the engine is hesitating before deciding to go all out. That has nothing to do with mode.

As to the OP, sorry; I didn’t notice any hesitation when I had a stock TB so I don’t have anything to add.

So you’re saying any Z A10 it drops down before Moving out but you didn’t have that problem with yours

I believe he means the Z A10 drops down to a lower gear "almost instantly", meaning he basically didn't feel any hesitation.

Oh okay maybe that’s what I was feeling and calling it hesitation. I will say today I checked my lower coolant tank for the FIRST TIME and noticed it was bone dry!! I did pulls in trak mode with zero “hesitation”.

Gotta admit the a10 is the best automatic trans I’ve ever owned. Responds really well to driver input and is really fun to drive on the street.
