LT1 - Change to Staggered Set

I need wheels for drag radials that are at least 9 1/2 inches wide for my LT1. Current stock wheels are 8 1/2 I think. So, I thought may be better to just buy a new set of wheels with the specs I need. But now that I think about it, on my 2018 2SS, I bought a set that the tires were not stock sizes and it caused a problem with traction control, so I finally ended up putting stock dimension tires on the front that fixed the problem.

So, since that made me a little gun shy, I wondered if I put a staggered set on the LT1 which stock, has square configuration am I going to have the same problem. I had stock dimension ILE wheels on my 2018 which looked killer and there was no problem with the staggered setup. The question: if I use the same setup on the LT1, am I going to be in trouble with traction control? Any experience from the forum?

Group experience is width difference will not cause problems for the TC, it is tire height difference that gets you.

Keep overall tire height similar and you shouldn't have issues. I don't think anyone has the exact number where trouble starts, but staying below 5% seems to be safe.

I was quite sure that was the case. In the LT1, There's 0 difference of course since it's a square setup with 245 40 20 tires. Problem is, no traction with a 455HP and that skinny a tire.

Thanks for the reassurance.
