2021 Camaro ZL1 Header Install (Wiring Harness Protection)

Just wanted to share some images of the recent Long Tube Header install I performed on my 2021 Camaro ZL1. I read lots of threads about the passenger side wiring harness getting to close to the header and causing thousands of dollars in damage. This was my solution to the problem. DEI Heat Shielding Wrap and use of a 1" Adel Clamp. The wiring harness should not move anywhere now.

I also did the BMR Tubular Motor Mounts as part of this install which definitely provided substantial clearance.

The Headers I used are CSP 2" Long Tubes which I then had a local shop in Orlando apply a 2,400 degree thermal barrier coating in matte black.

Can not wait until it goes for dyno tuning, however I used HP Tuners to ensure no CEL are occurring. Next step is to install the Dual Wideband's (Innovative) to allow the actual tuning process.

Let me know what you think....

Factory starter heat shield left in place. Never had to remove for my install.

Adel clamps are the best. They're very useful. It's kinda' crazy how much all that stuff moves around under load, and can shift enough to get too close to hot/moving things.

was the hole/screw already there for the Adel, or did you self-tap one

I did have to drill a small hole in that area. I used a 7/16 Grade 8 Bolt/Washer/Nut to secure the Adel Clamp. The exit was right by the front coil spring, but no interference. Almost looks factory. I was weary about drilling a hole, but at the risk of melting wiring harnesses I pulled the trigger

Just a stupid q... but is there a reason you didnt bend the mount section of the Adel a little bit, and use the 2 lower coolant rez studs? I know it lifts the harness up and out of the way, add some nuts and washers, and it shouldn't be going anywhere...
