Starting to shop for a 2SS

So I have started shopping around for a 2ss. I was just looking for a bit of input from the forums on thoughts on the used market. I'm trying to get something slightly used under 5,000 miles ideally if I can't manage to find anything reasonable that is new and not pushing 60k. Has anyone heard of luck recently getting a 22 or even 23 at MSRP or slightly above?

Is there anything to look out for when shopping used for these cars? I have actually seen a decent amount of cars with very low miles, 1-3k miles. Should I be worried about these cars? I have been doing a bit of research and I am pretty dead set on a 2ss 6MT. Any input will be appreciated, thanks!

I paid less than MSRP for my new 22 2SS 1LE last February. There are still a handful of good dealers out there but it may take a some work to find a deal. I found a ton of low mileage used cars when I was looking. Most were so close to MSRP that it made no sense to buy them. I financed 2/3 of my car with the GM promotion. Considering the higher interest rates on used cars, the fact that most were already a couple years old and would devalue sooner than a new car, and not knowing if someone beat the hell out of it, I decided to buy new. I drove one 2020 2SS with 2800mi on the clock. Dealer wanted $49k for it. It was loaded with clearcoat scratches, the door had a chip in it, the right rear tire was out of balance and the shifter bushings already felt like someone pounded them out. IDK what the hell happened to that car in 2800mi but that was the last used car I looked at

I kept checking the Chevy site every 2 days for cars I liked that were in transit. If there was anything I liked that didn't already have a markup listed I called the dealer to see if it was available. I found my car being sent to Davidson Chevy in Canton CT. I called them, they sent a p&s over in writing and I send a deposit. It came in, they kept thier word on everything, and I rolled out of there as happy as could be with zero drama. It does happen, but it took me over a year to get the car I wanted.

I 100% love the 6mt and auto rev matching. Zero regrets and I do drive the car as many places as I can. It takes a few miles to warm up, and I did swap out the factory fluid for Amsoil, but its a solid trans. Clutch is light, almost too light for me, and the hill start assist turned out to be pretty convenient. I thought all the electronic assistance would be lame, as I'm a traditional guy, but they did a great job making everything seamless with these cars. I get in it and smile every time. The 6mt has a lot to do with it for me. So glad I didn't "settle" for the seemingly plentiful A10s that were out there at the time.

I wouldn't be too concerned about low mileage cars. A lot of times people buy them, then find that they don't drive them as often as they like for one reason or another, and trade them in for something more "practical." The 2019+ cars seem to be pretty solid, not a lot of common issues to be aware of. Find one with the features & price you want, and pull the trigger! Prices have come down just slightly as we've entered in to the winter season, although you're in an area that's probably not as affected by weather.

I purchased a stock 2SS, no options, for out the door under MSRP. Few things will help you negotiate. A decent trade, competition within the area, a larger dealership, or a decent amount of inventory. I follow the black book automotive industry weekly trends and the market is trending towards buyers more recently due to future market unstabilty.

Like you, I wanted a 6MT and 2SS offers a good amount of tech for standard equipment. I went from a ct4v to this car and sure I don't have the awesome suspension or a fitting phone charger... but a manual v8 for the long haul was my end goal. Everything I can change as opportunity arises. We know Camaros have a strong aftermarket so it's only a matter of time.

Try AutoNation, I went with them as they have no haggle pricing , and I got my 22 1SS for MSRP , last November 21, I m not a fan of any dealership, but others wanted over MSRP . Good luck. Happy Motoring soon

Some solid advice on here .. I’d definitely spec one out exactly as you want it and not settle for 2nd and 3rd options. They aren’t gonna make a lot more of these cars so get one while you can. Good luck .. the M6 is a beautiful thing.

When they say market adjustment is that when they add $10,000 to the price?

James Woods Chevy wanted 5000 over MSRP. I told her she should be ashamed of herself and I found a dealer that would do MSRP. It took one phone call so dont believe them when they say everyone is doing it or we have the lowest markups. News flash, most salesmen lie.
