New car. Missing rocker protective film
Just bought a 2023 ZL1. Drove it home and noticed there's no protective film over the rocker in front of the rear tires like my 2018 SS had.
Is this not supposed to be installed by the manufacture/dealer? |

As far as I know - Yes, all three Camaro’s I’ve owned came with it.
I preserved those areas / pieces when I cut and installed self healing PPF. In retrospect, I should have yanked those pieces and went full self healing. |

My 23 ZL1 does not have it and to the best of my knowledge that dealer addon type stuff and not OE. My 18 1LE had those pieces on it but I know for certain it was dealer level stuff.

Congratulations on the purchase, mine didn't have any film , I had Xpel installed on the front .

My 21 ZL1 and my 18 ZL1 didnt have it. And didnt need it. It was for the 1LE cars with the stickier tires.

My long gone 2016 2SS had it and my 2017 ZL1 has it too. Maybe someone at the factory decided it wasn’t needed anymore. Your guess is good as mine. And congratulations on your new 2023 ZL1 and you definitely will enjoy it!

No rocker film on my 2018. In my year of ownership I would say my paint has gone from 10/10 to 8/10 with NO PROTECTION. When I finally decide what I want to do with my paint down the road I will correct and Xpel, or just correct and wrap it. Either way, I know I’m eventually going to get tired of summit white lol
