Catch Can Results

I took the supercharger lid off after 12,000 miles running the Elite Engineering E2-X catch can. I'm pretty happy with how clean the inside looked.

I get about 2-3 ounces of nasty goo every 2000 miles or so when I drain the catch can and change the oil. The mount was welded on the back side where it pivots, so the catch can does not move at all.

Engine is stock. I proactively replaced the oil pump with a Katech unit, since I don't plan to ever sell it, which is ultimately the reason for the catch can.

My 21 without a catch can for the first 4k miles of its life looked exactly like that with oil in the same places as well. Catch cans are not needed.

Oh here we go again with the catch can debate. Just let who ever wants to install them do it doesn't hurt and it's a plus if it works. I personally love my Elite E2-X Ultra

Exactly. Catch cans, particularly for these cars, are a great way for aftermarket companies to make $$. You're still going to have to get the valves cleaned at around 70k miles anyway.

I did not intend to re-light this tiresome debate. This post was for those curious about how the can worked, and my thoughts about my particular installation.

Add some boost and then check it again....

Plus the crap in the can is going somewhere...
