Camaro Warranty Void Talk

For those of y’all that went ahead and voided the warranty and went ahead and installed performance mods. What made y’all do it or what. Was it just that u didn’t care about the warranty? Wanted more power ? Was willing to risk it knowing there’s little risk of anything catastrophic happening?

I know tuning goes a long way and that’s why u tune with a reputable tuner that doesn’t just max your car all out.

After buying a new 2002 Firehawk and replacing every part in it except the short block, I switched to buying used cars with high miles to mod up. Much more cost effective. For a while (until the latest used craziness) you could get a 5th gen LS3 car for around $10k, to me that would be the perfect car to mod like crazy! I think you can find them around $15k now, still less than half of a new V8 6th gen.

As to why, why do you do any hobby?

I would say my powertrain warranty is voided , and surely after my next mods I am working on. This is not the path for ALL for sure (especially if you are heavily financed). The LT1 motor is pretty solid. I just wanted more rwhp than the stock SS produced (385ish rwhp). You have guys in the 600-900 realm with little issues. However, when you go over 1000, that is another ballgame for sure. The wallet will take a big hit! I am not too concerned about the powertrain warranty, as I am with all the electronics for sure. Also, this car is not my daily driver either.
A well taken care of used Gen5 Camaro is perfect for the mods!

Yes the LS3 responds well to mods!
