2022 ZL1 BMR Springs
Hello everyone,
I searched around the forums for some pictures of 2018+ ZL1's with the BMR springs for MRC cars and the photos are hard to tell if it's much of a drop. I think it's around 0.4" all around with MRC. For anyone that's done it to a 2018+ year model- 1) Was it worth it? Did it improve the wheel gap enough to notice? 2) Ride would be harsher but by how much? 3) MRC re-calibration required? I read some conflicting opinions on this. Also, I'm going to be getting some 19" Apex Arc-8's, swapping out the stock ZL1 wheels, not sure if that is relevant or not.

I’d love to hear some responses and see some pics as well. I’m very surprised more people don’t lower this car. With a half inch drop or so I imagine it would look perfect!

Here is my 19 with BMR springs. It lowered it just enough to close the gap. I didn’t recalibrate the mag ride on it since it was such a mild drop.

How did the ride quality feel like compared to OEM?

They are 19 inch 1LE spec. It rides a little firmer but it’s still a nice ride.

I went with the Eibach Pro for lowering mine, didn't recalibrate MagRide either and I love the new look, new ride feel is negligible. Did it myself with a few hand tools in my garage in a few hours.

I bet the lower COG just adds to the experience that much more. My previous ride was on coilovers, front bumper was at most 1/2" off the ground and was a PITA around town but the body roll was non-existent, loved it

![]() And maybe this is a dumb question but say I went with a 19" rim, 30 profile would it ride lower with the new springs vs. the OEM 20"s?

I'm not sure the difference between the BMR and Eibach, I saw the Eibach in person on 3 ZL1s and it was the perfect balance between looking how it should have come from the factory "stock" and slammed. I can't answer the question of the rim size...

Can you post a picture of your car so I can compare with the BMR springs on the blue ZL1, please?

I was looking into some lowering springs also I was between Eibach, BMR or Powell YYZ. The only reason I have decided is because I track a decent amount and not sure if it will effect the handling. I do run Apex wheels ZLE size. I just ordered DSC controller so hoping that will be a big change.

I'm on Eibachs, they state 0.4" drop. No drama installing them, easy to do in an afternoon.
No calibration done, like someone else said, such a minimal drop don't really see a need. No issues in over a year. Ride quality is great, bumps are little sharper feeling but outside that it rides mostly like OEM. Most all sport cars look better alot better with a slight drop, in my opinion. I think all ZL1s should get some.
