Newbie here. Got very lucky.

Recently placed an order for a Rapid Blue 2SS 1LE Manual. After talking to a few people and reading this forum, I realized I might very well have a long wait for my delivery day. So I started looking around for something similar at my local dealers. As you might guess, finding that combo at a dealer was slightly harder than that the old needle/haystack thing. AND THEN I SAW IT!! A Rapid Blue 2SS 1LE Manual car was IN TRANSIT to a dealer about 90 minutes away. This car also had red seat belts and a sun roof. But hey....close enough. Of course, I figured this was a special order and was not available. I called. It was available!! The guy said several people had been calling about it. A couple days later, I called and asked what the final OTD price was. I went the next day and paid in full. Car has a 4300 code!! Looking forward to learning a bunch on this forum. Thanks!!

Congrats! I found my car looking at dealer listings while waiting for another dealer to get back to me on a special order.

Mine was on 4300 status for a long time. It's now on "4D00 MP Hold". I put money on it about 6 months ago as it was "in transit" and 4300. As of this morning it is still "in transit". I hope your car makes it in a reasonable time, but, be prepared for a wait.

Same thing happened to me. The dealer closest to me just happened to have ordered the exact spec I was looking to custom order and was coming in within 2 weeks! I'll take plain old good luck any day.

Congratulations! I also found my 22 1LE in transit after waiting three months with no allocation. In this market finding an in transit car is better than waiting to receive your order. The problem is finding a car that is what you want that isn't spoken for.
