Check Engine Light - fuse pull

I believe I didn't pull the right fuse for the valves to always be open aka fuse #51. Now I have a check engine light even after putting the fuse back in it's place. What gives? Could the fuse have blown? How do I remove the check engine light?

HP Tuners will clear the CEL. Most auto part stores will scan your car but I'm not sure they'll clear it. Any repair facility can clear it.

If there is no damage to the fuse or the systems it powers, you might try the following:

Then turn the ignition ON, start the vehicle and let it idle for at least 30 seconds. Then, without cycling the key, drive the vehicle for at least five minutes at more than 40 km/h. Then (again without cycling the key) let the vehicle idle for at least 30 seconds before shutting it OFF. The whole drive cycle must take at least 10 minutes. After performing a Universal Trip Drive Pattern, the computer clears the code, since it’s “seen” that the problem is fixed and not reoccurring.

Thank you I will try this. Also, do you know if fuses need to be plugged in one side vs. the other, i.e. polarity like in LED bulbs?
I tried both sides but they both have the check engine light on.

The fuse can be put in either way. The DTC will not clear until the car goes through at least one drive cycle to allow the ECM to verify that the problem is corrected.

Hope that’s all it is. I just pulled 51 on my 22 a couple weeks ago and it worked ok. As others have said it’s not a huge diff in tone.
