Blue smoke after MM catch can or other catch cans?
I've been noticing some smoke even while idling at stop lights. It started soon after getting a ported stock intake, ported ZR1 TB, longtubes with off road connections and E85 sensor. It really seemed to start after the first tank of E85. Not sure if there is any connection, but while at Roebling Road Raceway this weekend, my friend's dad pointed it out.

Could it perhaps be the E85?

Blue smoke usually means you're burning oil. I'd look over the catch can and make sure everything is set up right.

Likely from the off-road headers and not your catch can. If the tune is even barely off, then you will be shooting fuel out of your exhaust valve close event and it will come out as black smoke if you dont have cats.
If its actually blue and not black, then you are burning some oil for some reason Last edited by Katech_Zach; 09-14-2022 at 07:57 AM. |

Agreed. Not sure if the OP has aftermarket valve covers but the baffling is not as good as OEM and ends up filling catch cans with oil in a hurry.

Thanks. Stock valve covers. It's definitely blue smoke due to oil. It just started right after all the work, so I have a hard time believing valvestem seals, but I know anything is possible. I'm running 93 octane. I did one tank of E85 a few weeks ago.
