PID Addresses for IPW

I spoke with Banks yesterday about getting a firmware update to include IPWs. The tech told me that much of the problem in getting new PIDs added is the time required by the engineers to find these addresses. If I was able to give him the addresses, he would forward these to the engineers and quite possibly get me an update.

I know this has been addressed in earlier threads, but I have not seen any updates. I remember one thread proposed that we send emails requesting the PIDs. This route seems to be a little more workable. I have the tech's name and I assertively follow up politely asking for the status of my request. I am eager to do this with a little help in finding the necessary addresses. I think we would all like to have this info on our A pillar.

That's GREAT news!!! Thanks for helping with that!

How did you find it? I'm asking, because it would be nice to have everything spark retard-related to be added, too, IMO. IAT, knock, Burst knock, etc. If you point me in the direction, I'm happy to look for them.

I am just starting the search for the PIDs. I imagine if we can find one, we can find all. As you saw, hopefully someone at HP Tuners can help. If not, I'm sure someone at Chevy can but, can you spell bureaucracy starting with a "b" and ending with an "s"? The hunt is on.

I don't know if these PIDs have common addresses, but how about these?:
  • Spark Retard - 50111.161
  • Burst Knock Retard - 2641.161
  • Spark Advance - 50110.161
  • Bank 1 Injector Pulsewidth Average - 6200.254
  • Bank 2 Injector Pulsewidth Average - 6201.254
  • Manifold Air Temperature -
  • EQ Ratio - 68.238
  • AFR Ratio - 6001

It would be SUPER cool to get alerts for all of these, assuming these addresses are meaningful to them.

You can find addresses using TunerPro, then give them to HPtuners to consider adding (or you can get them added as user-defined parameters.

I would imagine you could use TunerPro to find the addresses of interest and pass it along to Banks.

Well, fellas, looks look we are done for awhile. Here is the response I got from Banks, this morning:

Martin,

We brought this request up to engineering and they stated that there is no further room to add custom PIDs into the firmware of the iDash, By room they explained that the iDash physically wouldn’t have enough memory to process the added PIDs. At this time it appears we will not be able to move further with your request as they are the ones that have the final say in these matters.

This didn’t end as well as I’d expected. I really think Banks is geared toward what they already have available versus putting the time in the change.

The Aeroforce gauge does monitor these two missing parameters.

Ah well, I’m just disappointed in the outcome especially considering you did a lot of the leg work they requested.

Didn’t they know they were out of memory before they asked you to provide the information about these additional parameters?

That's a cop out if I ever heard it. I'm not buying that explanation and it sounds like they are just making excuses to not do extra work for our PCM's.

Those are very valid PID's to track.
