upgrade aux coolers or just main radiator?
I'm going to be taking the front nose off in a few weeks for some aero stuff and was wondering if it's worth it (as I track the car) to upgrade the aux coolers. I figure the main radiator is easy enough but I've seen where some say it'd worth the upgrade and some say they are barely bigger.
So looking for some inputs from those that have done it. If you just did the main, do you wish you did the aux? Or those thst did all 3, do u wish you would have gone main and saved a few $. |

Hey there... I think you are referring to the HX and the RAD correct?
I know the below system is very popular not only for being holding alot more capacity but in the ability to cool faster... I dont have these yet, gonna start with an HX expansion tank first... https://weaponxmotorsports.com/colle...nt=37717913425

I have the 3 WeaponX ht xch on my build. Even with ported sc and bottom/top pully change she runs cool even in 90 degree heat. I don't race the car so no experience there.

PLM exchanger 395 same size thickness as the all the rest (prospeed, weaponX, and speed engineering), they also have a thinner version. I've had the thicker unit on 2 years no trouble seems to be working well if the temp is 100 outside the blower is 10 degrees over ambient.
outside temp 100 degrees IAT 1 100 IAT 2 110 IAT 3 124 I had no way to log when I used the stock exchanger now I do but it seems solid. What if you did the PLM and the LPE or Cordes front mount tank instead of a more expensive unit. I think most help will come from capacity over better cores like afco or Bell. AFCO 3 system setup $1500 plus Weapon X 3 system setup $1300 seen it as low as 900 or 879.00 C&R Primary $895.00 Prospeed $799.00 Primary ADM $599.00 Primary Speed Engineering $519.00 3 system setup PLM Private Label manufacturing $395 Thick Primary PLM Private Label manufacturing $345 Thin Primary

If I could find / knew when weapon x would have a sale on their 3, id just go that route. But I'll look into that PLM 2 inch version.

I just got my ZL1 a few weeks ago and had been looking at the interchiller. I don't really track my street cars but living in Florida the ambient temps are well up into the 90s pretty regularly and this seemed like a good option. Why do you not want to use an interchiller if you're tracking?

What is an acceptable ratio from ambiant, IAT1-3?
A recent drive found this on a mix of freeway and back road... Ambient (76) + IAT.1 (79) + IAT.3 (117) Ambient (89) + IAT.1 (91) + IAT.3 (129) I have NO cooling mods yet...
