Do power stop pads destroy Brembo rotors

I really hate the brake dust like so many but I was wondering will switching to Powerstop Z26 pads ruin the Brembo rotors. Just got my car and only have 200 miles and cannot believe the dust. I ceramic coated the wheels which make them easy to clean but I have had to wash the rims 3 times already in 200 miles and just 10 days of owning.

I am not going to track it so I am ok with a little bit less brake power if it stops most of the dust. Any other low dust pad recommendations?

You will lose some bite but many folks have switched to those pads without issue. The dust is annoying but my car is black so I have to wash it every week anyway.

I switched from the stock Brembo pads to PowerStop Z26 pads at about 400 miles (on the odometer), I now have over 6,700 miles, no issues (other than slightly reduced braking vs. the Brembo pads) but still plenty of braking for the street and about a 95% reduction in brake dust...

If you aren't tracking your car, I'd switch...

Thanks

Is anyone out there with Powerstop pads and higher mileage? I already ordered the Powerstops but saw a post on a ZL1 FB page someone with a hellcat had their brembo rotors severely worn down with just street use and the power stop pads.

GLOC GS-1 (street pads) work awesome, I've had them on all of my Camaro's. No change in brake performance, way less dust.

Powerstop Z26 pads suck.

Whose pads are they rebranding?

I have had Powerstops on my Hellcat, my Ram, and my dad has had them on his 392 and Scat Pack, all without issue. Yes there is less initial bite, but they work perfectly fine for street use, and stop pretty damn well if you need to step on them.

Ive had the Z26 on my 1LE for atleast 30K miles and 3 years and there's no unexpected wear or anything else going on with my rotors.

Great thanks. I have Power stop rotor and pads on my truck so I know they are nearly dustless. I didn't think they could damage the Brembo rotors. I always thought Brembo rotors were a harder higher quality material than a standard steel rotor.

Take this with a grain of salt but I replaced my C7 Z51 Brembro pads at 10k miles with the Z26 pads. Starting at around 15k miles I would get a pulsation (steering wheel would shake left to right) when I braked and it felt like warped rotors. After doing a hard stop it would go away but it kept coming back. I'm not sure if it was build up on the rotors or what but I didn't like it. I did a proper bedding of the brake pads when i installed them but for some reason they didn't like my car. I thought about replacing the Brembos on my 22 ZL1 but decided I'm just going to live with the brake dust. About a month before I sold the car I had it serviced and the shop told me the rotors were starting to get a little runout on them.

Don’t do it. Leave the pads alone.

Powerstop Z26 pads have been on for over 2 years, no issues. Haul me down from 146 MPH at the end of a quarter mile run, can’t be that bad lol.

I thought the stock rotors were GM and only the pads and calipers were "brembo"...?

They're sons of the guy who started Carbotech. They took some of the pad formulations but made them better and are my go-to now for street and track pads.

Well the pads are made by Ferodo, but, IIRC, have Brembo branding on them. I don't believe they say Ferodo anywhere on the pads.
