Sold my C7 now looking for a 2SS 1LE maybe
I sold my C7 Z51 A8 last October and decided to buy another Camaro. I had a 2013 SS that I really liked but it got front end damage from a 2x4 on the freeway so I had it fixed and sold the car. Anyway, I'm thinking about the 2SS 1LE or possibly the ZL1. I've found a couple ZL1's with an M6 for about 67K and the 2SS's I'm looking at are around 53k with M6 and 55k with the auto. I'm not sure if I need the extra horsepower, especially for another 14-15k.
I hit a ton of dealers in my area today and everything was "in transit". I'd like to get feedback from anyone that might have had or driven a C7 to get a comparison on the 1LE combo and the Zl1. I'm assuming the Zl1 would be the Z06 to my Z51 since it had magnetic ride control. |

You can get MRC on the SS.

Imo, the best "bang for the buck" is a 2ss 1le.

I would say even 1ss 1le
You won’t have to pay for leather and heads up display twice I mean if you want the hp the zl1 is the way to go. And you get the wide body front fenders and rocker guards. So it’s keeps the chips to a minimum

I'm pretty sure the 1LE package added on MRC to the SS for the 6th gen.
ZL1 will always come with MRC unless you find a ZL1 1LE. 2021+ can have the A10 with 1LE optioned as well if you didn't know

If you are looking for more of an upgrade from your C7 bite the bullet and get the ZL1. It is a pricey jump over the SS 1LE but the Camaro chassis and suspension is so good that it can handle the extra power of the LT4. Don't get me wrong the SS 1LE feels really good, so much so that I sometimes wished for more power, the ZL1 is the package that delivers that power.

I'm really leaning toward the ZL1 but the cost savings on the 1LE and the rising prices in gas have me a little concerned.

I sold my C7 A8 last December and planned to buy a Caddy Atsv and was on my way to purchase it in St Louis, stopped by a big dealer in St Louis and they had a 2022 Lt1 sitting on the showroom floor. I took a look at it and was getting ready to leave and the salesman came out and asked if I was interested. He said they had it sold and the customer couldn't get financed and it was available. It was cleaned and sticker was already off the window. I walked around it a few more times and they actually had it marked down 2350.00. So I just went ahead and bought it while I was there. I also got 500.00 off for being a veteran. So I drove it home that day. Still happy with my purchase and save about 10k over a used 2017 Atsv. I do miss my C7, had it dialed in running 10.90@128 so now starting over again. Big weight difference for sure.

1LE finally arrived 7 months later in September of 2021. Didn't want to, but ended up selling the Grand Sport for much more than I paid for it due to crazy car market. The 1LE is a great car but just not for me. Never even tracked it or any of my Vettes or anything for that matter. I decided to get a ZL1 because I had a 2018 previously before the 2019 C7 GS. It arrived in 7 weeks from order date. Everyone's situation is different, but from one Vette owner to another, if you can swing it get the ZL1. I know the recent price increase sucks and again the 1LE is a great car, but the ZL1 is a just unreal. Best wishes either way. |

Understandable. I wouldn't get either if they are heavy daily drivers. I only put 250 miles per month on my ZL1 so the operating cost is low.

I owned an ss 1le a zl1 1le and a c7 z06 z07 pkg all at the same time and you cant go wrong with any of them. obviously the power difference is big in stock form but you can change that. my ss 1le makes the most hp out of all of them and will soon double the stock output of the zl1. I personally like the 6spd in the camaros better than the 7spd in the vette if going manual.

In my opinion the SS 1LE is the best bang for the buck out there. The ZL1 is probably second in that category. If the extra hp in the ZL1 is worth the extra cost then I say go fo for it. For me it wasn't.
