Is this part of the idler pulley? Mine is filthy... looks like it's leaking or has grease thrown on it or something. I can't really get a good look at it on my own car and looking for LT1 parts for gen v online give me tons of older gen lt1 hits...

And yes I know this is not an LT1, but best picture I could find that shows the part clearly

Well, found it actually... shows more clearly here. Belt tension seems fine... should I replace it? again... looks like it came out of a junkyard dirty compared to the rest of the engine which is very clean... wonder if the dealer messed it up somehow when they did the power steering rack recall and put a used one in.... wouldn't put it past them.

tensioner i had mine replaced a few years ago under warranty with less than 30k miles

Yeah that's the belt tensioner. They redesigned them now so they don't leak. I too replaced mine early last year. I didn't notice any issues with it but it drove my ocd up the wall and since I was adding a new ground strap I changed it out.
