Daytime running lights Canada

Does anyone know if DRL function can be changed in my ZLE I’m up here in shitty Canada and want the headlights to not be used as the DRL. With my dodge products a simple device called Tazer allowed me to change the country code to US and then I can shut them off as well as many other useful things.
Ram dealers can do it as well at the stealership.

I guess it depends on if it's a software difference or wiring difference.

If it's software then I would assume you could ask the dealer? I do have some knowledge on how that could possibly be achieved on Ford's, since I played around with Forscan with my Mazda's(thanks to Ford owning a major part of Mazda for a good while), but not sure if there is a tool like that for GM vehicles.

If it's a wiring difference then you need to do some hardware changes, but modern cars should all have DRL software-based.

I remember driving a rental Corolla in the States and it even has an option in the infotainment to turn the DRL on and off.

Technically illegal to turn it off in Canada so few dealers would do it officially. Maybe off duty one could / would.

I thought the DRL only turned on the LED strip lights under the headlights however.
