Will have as much to do with a 1LE as a current NG NASCAR car which is in name only.

However, it is clearly stated that it's a "specially modified" NG Car, not simply a NASCAR car going to LeMans. Likely to address the 24 hour durability as most races in NASCAR are 4 or 5 hours tops.

Yeah, the side-on shot of the two cars on the article looks nothing like a 6th gen Camaro beyond having two doors and four wheels...

It states a modified NASCAR 'next gen' cup series car. It has little to nothing in common with the production versions, though the next gen is supposed to at least be more similar than in years past. But the underpinnings have no carryover at all.

NASCAR and Hendrick Motorsports announced a cooperative venture Thursday that would bring a modified Next Gen stock car to the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the race’s centennial celebration in 2023.

At it's core is a NASCAR NG Car that is called a ZR1.

This is not a Camaro ZL1 as we know, but as NASCAR knows it.
