Dealer telling me 5 Month wait

Hey!

My dealer keeps telling me to re-order because it's a 5month wait. I told her/them I am not interested in a winter delivery. They keep telling me with everything going on you should order now so you'll have it for early mid spring.

Is this true?

thanks!

Unless you're ordering something that is under a constraint, which it looks like you're waiting on a V6?...it's about 4-6 weeks wait from the time your order is accepted from GM to being built for anything that doesn't have a constraint, then a 1-2 weeks for shipping. V6 right is basically TBD if that is what you are waiting on.

I don't know if I'm going for the v6 anymore. I really wanted the V6 1le for a cool street and AutoX car. Like I really wanted it! I configured a few V6's with the few "track" options you can get. right under 35k. Kinda of lame...

The dealer told me they have an allocation for the 1ss manual. Less options the better they said.

As there is no V6 1LE offered in MY22, you have a long wait indeed.

Oh, yeah completely out the window. I literally ordered the v6 1le the day before GM announced they weren't building them.

i probably ordered mine in july just being built now. i would order now. come april you would rather be pulling it out of your garage than coming here to check your status while waiting.

I ordered End of Sep with the intent that I'd more likely than not seeing end of Winter/Early spring which would be great timing, for me.

The order being accepted and finding a dealer to do it are key items here. Placing an order means nothing. You have to have a dealer that actually wants t use an allocation on your car and wants to do the deal. Ive run into very little luck in this regard. YMMV. Good luck.

I went to a completely different dealer than the one I ordered the 21 1LE. I am ordering right after the new year. As of right now it's a 1ss, can't go wrong. Sick street car and competitive AutoX car. I've waited since 2012...what's another 6 months? I'm excited.

My advice is that you should not wait to order. If you want to buy, order now. LGR is going to be shut down from 12/27 through 1/17/22. There are 11 weeks of total shutdown time planned for LGR next year. IMO, production for Camaro will remain somewhat scarce.

There's a good chance that many orders going in from here on out will not be built until late January at the soonest.

A 1SS convertible that I ordered last week was assigned a tpw of 1/31/22.

If you're going off of what GMAuthority published today, you should know that there is a huge typo in that article - the body of the article says it's LDT, or Lansing Delta Township, that is being idled for that period of time, while the headline says LGR, or Lansing Grand River. The article does not mention the Camaro or the Caddy models that are actually built at LGR, so I'm guessing the headline is wrong.
