More sound below 3k

In my pursuit for my car to have a sound that I love I am looking for ideas. Previously I was chasing more sound. However in deeper contemplation- what I am really looking for is more sound below 3k. Beyond 3k the Borla axel back does just fine.

What can I do to keep the initial cold start up sound around even when the car warms up? Why does it become so quite after its warm? Any ideas on increasing the base sound?

Thanks!

Cold start the ecm adds fuel so the catalysts light off. No real way to keep the richer mixture.

Make sense. But there must be exhaust hardware that adds more sound at idle and below 3k?

Get some exhaust cutouts and you can leave them open when you want it louder than normal.

Investigating straight pipes more - found this. Looks like resonated and non resonated options from PLM. Any thoughts or feedback? Do straight pipes have drone (for those of u with them)

Drone is bad with straight pipes. Plus annoying.

^^^Agreed^^^. I have heard several straight pipe set ups and the drone was very apparent. The sound itself was always loud but no tone, like a dump truck. I’d pass.

If you want more sound, do a secondary cat delete. Its going to increase the sound all over though.

^^^ This.

I have long tube headers with only primary cats, stock NPP exhaust and garage cold starts in sport mode now rival a minor earthquake. Inside the cabin, with windows up it's still muffled to a level that allows conversations with the missus or kids in the back. Win-win.
