Question about SS brake line install

Hey guys I am planning to upgrade my OEM lines to RST SS ones. For those of you who have done this - do you think the install can be done on a 4 post lift without taking tires off? I.e from the inside? From the videos this looks plausible- but not sure since all the install videos show with wheels off….

plausible but not recommended...it would be really easy to cross thread something

Aren't the gen 6 factory lines already braided? I recall a member here cut one open for us all to see but the thread presently escapes me. In any case, if you're having brake fade problems there are more direct ways to go about resolving the issue imo. If you're getting fluid fade SS lines are essentially just a bandaid, the problem is more relative to a cooling requirement.

I also recalled seeing that thread you’re talking about.

Yea that's the thread I was talking about. I would assume they both use PTFE core as well. SS lines look way better but I don't think you'll see an effective change in fluid actuation or reliability between the two. Anyways, just a word to the wise, didn't mean to derail thread.

There was a lot of debate on this and in the end it was clear that SS lines are better - many folks chimed in with their own experience….I for INE definitely feel that the pedal is not as firm as I would like on the track….

Make life easier on yourself and take the wheels off for the install.

Are you planning to install the RST SS lines from Phastek?
https://www.phastekperformance.com/R...rst-6zblcl.htm

Just FYI, I tried to install them at the shop and they did not fit 2021 ZL1 1LE. These are cheap lines, made in china. they were leaking fluid, could not be properly tightened and shop had to install my stock lines back. Go with the Goodridge lines instead if you plan to upgrade!
