Exhaust cutouts at the track
Curious if anyone has experience or feedback regarding the longevity of remote controlled exhaust cutouts when subjected to heavy track use. My ZLE is bone stock and I like the dual nature of the stock exhaust. But having a 3rd "open" mode would be fun, just for the exhaust music. I'm not considering it for performance reasons. Purely to scare small dogs and hear the car more when on track. I'm worried they will get fried.

ive had three electric brands and every single one had a small leak. I have yet to use a vacuum style cutout.

I used cutouts for years on my last car, as long as you only open/close them at idle (or engine off) they are fine, the problem is opening them while driving puts too much load on the motors

I've also had 3 brands. QTEC, DMH and Doug's. I'd be curious how well any of them would hold up to heat from track use. I do miss pre-cat cutouts, just for the sounds at idle.
- Doug's was cool concept, but didn't last long daily driving. - DMH customer service sucks. They failed in less than a year, sent back under warranty and NEVER got them back. Many calls and messages and emails for months with only 1 answer for a BS excuse and promise they were going out. I despise that place, worse experience with a company ever. - QTEC has by far been the most reliable and stand behind any issues.

Thanks for that intel. Is there a brand of electronic or vacuum cutout that is known for durability?

Thanks for this thread, for kicks I just bumped my original DMH email, apparently has been 9.5 yrs since I sent them in. In April '17 I did finally get an email with excuses yet a promise of replacing and then was ghosted again and no replies.
