A few questions from a new owner

Hi All,

I am the proud owner of a 2021 camaro LT1 in summit white with the 6 speed. Ive been dreaming of owning a new camaro since the first transformers movie.

Ive put right at a thousand miles on the car, and i have a few questions.

1. How strict is the 1500 mile break in? Ive done a small ammount of aggressive driving so far but ive pretty much towed the line. ive never had a car that asked for more than 1k miles. I figure ive got to be able to have some fun (within reason) at this point.

2. Who are the go to vendors? I know there is summit, jegs, AM, etc, but having had a 2019 mustang GT, im wondering if there are any camaro/chevy specialty vendors like Steeda was for the mustang. Even just a vendor that REALLY knows the platform and who is willing to help me work out my decisions. (i had a 35 email long conversation with Steeda who helped put together an EXCELLENT suspension setup for my mustang)

3. Aside from the CAGs defeat, are there any must do mods for the car?

Im already planning the following:

A. BMR Front and rear adjustable swaybar
B. axleback exhaust

C. Sound deadening (basically planning to cover every square inch inside the trunk and under the rear trim/seat)

4. I know this one is a bit more of an engine question, but can the factory fuel system handle e85? My understanding is that the reason all the superchargers only go to aroun 550-580 wheel is because thats all the factory fuel system can handle.

I think I followed the break-in procedure, about 1500 miles, oil change, 5000 miles, oil change, then 7500mi/1yr after that.

Another school of thought is redline all the time from mile 1.

Phasetek, RDP, Juiced Motorsports come to mind. Check out the vendor section.

Must do mods, honestly not much imo. Depends on your wants with the car. I wanted to keep mine relatively stock through the warranty period. Exhaust if you want it louder, I've done that, and the front strut tower brace because it was on sale. I think that's all I've done except driving it.

4. I know this one is a bit more of an engine question, but can the factory fuel system handle e85? My understanding is that the reason all the superchargers only go to aroun 550-580 wheel is because thats all the factory fuel system can handle.

No, you need the flex fuel sensor and a tune first. DSX, Lethal, a few others sell the sensor.
My answers in red.

1. I followed the manufacturer suggested break-in.

2. Wildhammer Motorsports.

3. I went with aFe Power adjustable sway bars and lowering springs.
BMR upper/lower control arms and trailing arms.
Borla exhaust, you won't be disappointed.
Kooks headers is the route I went.

We see too far.

RDP(Dynosteve on forums) has been my main go-to for parts without issue. There's a vendor/seller review section I suggest you check out.

Sorry i should have clarified on my e85 question.

Can the Fuelpump/injectors provide enough fuel once you add the flex fuel sensor and an appropriate tune? I picked up 50 wheel on my mustang, hoping the camaro is similar.

Oh yeah, a question i forgot.
Ive seen a bunch of sites remove parts when I enter the LT1, or they say 16-19, or something like that.I would imagine that, in terms of engine and suspension, that the parts for an SS fit on an Lt1 (assuming no adaptive suspension, or active exhaust)

Like a sway bar is a sway bar right?

A lot of sites you need to select SS to get the correct results. If you consult this forum, you can usually find out which parts would NOT fit on an LT1.

There are very few differences between Lt1/SS - I think Gauge cluster, rear brakes, extra oil cooler for engine are the big ones from a base 1SS to a base LT1.

Wheels/tires is the other. Ours are a square 245 All Season setup. The SS come with goodyear summers in staggered 245/275.

This is what i figured. I kind of hate the runflats. I plan to switch to the widest staggered setup i can reasonably fit down the road, probably after suspension and more power.

I followed the "High Performance" break in on my 2SS with an oil change at 500 and 1500 along with a differential fluid change at 1500. The biggest things I made sure to follow were no cruise control / maintained speeds and hard braking. I was never more than moderate on the throttle during the first 1500 miles either. I've really only done a few WOT pulls since, mostly when merging onto a couple of stretches of highway around here where people are idiots and you have to hit the lane at highway speed and there's no real on-ramp to speak of.

My plan is to move to a 275 or 285 square setup when the stock all seasons wear out.

I plan to change the oil at 1500. Im hoping the dealer will allow me to use my "free" maintenance for that.

Let me play devils advocate here. As long as it’s under some kind of warranty I would not go to wild with modifications as It will void your warranty. I’m not saying not to have fun just saying most of the mods like the flex fuel will void it. Break it in and then go have some fun.
There is more than enough power there to start with.
