Unhappy All: Please think before doing!!!

Sad and tragic local news:

http://www.ocregister.com/news/polic...ersection.html

Santa Ana, CA police arrest the driver of a hit-and-run accident, which in turn led to a young woman passenger of a Scion to be taken to the hospital in critical condition. The driver "left a bar" before the accident, but according to the report they have not confirmed if he was intoxicated.

Today, my sister tells us that the young woman was her friend and that she is "brain-dead and on life support." The young woman's name is Corban.

Seriously, how can people do things without thinking? Here we have the life of a young person who has everything to look forward to in her future, only to be brought to a stop by another inconsiderate human being?!? Why is it that innocence always seems to be the victim of such actions?

Please keep Corban in your thoughts and prayers as well as any loved ones that drive on a daily basis.

:(

We keep having wrong way drunk drivers here. Started a few years back and is now popular with the drunks. Get loaded up, head the wrong way down the eway and kills a car load of folks, and the drunk walks away.

Sorry about your sister's friend, my prayers are with her and her family.

Here in Massachusetts there have been a high number of hit and run accidents lately. There has to be at least 2-3 in the last couple of weeks Where a vehicle has hit and killed a pedestrian and just driven off. In most cases they do find the killer. Just makes you wonder what kind of society we live in nowadays where you can knowingly run over someone, not stop, leave them for dead and then live with yourself? Where are the morals, where is the consideration for another human being? Very, very sad.

I feel for you because I've been through this a couple of times. I can tell you that the drunks die too, and even if they don't they have to live with it the rest of their lives. Nobody wins.

While we're at it. Street racing and acting like a nut causes the same results so don't do it.

My prayers go out to her and her family.

Thank you all for your kind words, I'm so sorry to hear all the happenings in our society. Again, I must say that innocence always seems to be the victim...

I've read that it's because they are generally relaxed at impact, which is good in a car crash. People not intoxicated tend to 'tighten up' or brace for the crash, which is not a good thing to do.

its because they are relaxed. The more relaxed you are in an accident the more your body just rolls with the motion of the wreck, rather than trying to remain in one place and breaking bones or whatever else.
-edit- heh, someone beat me to it

Anyway, karma will catch up to these individuals sooner or later. I, for one, never hesitate to call in drunk drivers when I see them in the road. I have no mercy for them, as I've had friends' family members get killed by drunk drivers.

Our thoughts and prayers for the victim and her family. My wifes friend and 3 yr old daughter were killed in a hit and run in by a guy who had just left a bar two blocks from their home. She had her daughter in her arms and was crossing the street to greet her husband who was parking his truck. Happened right in front of him. The kid got two years in jail for killing two people.
