MM Catch Can issues. Please help.
I have a new build ‘18 ZL1
Mag, cam, Heads, etc I put in a Might Mouse Catch can, it fills up like every 40 miles and car starts smoking, until I drain it again. I have 825whp at 12# do I need two of them? It seems overkill needing to drain it pretty much every time I drive. I had an a E2 cam that worked good and would 3-5oz every 3k miles Can someone please help with some tech or an idea of what I can do. It’s frustrating that I can’t drive this car now because of this. Just seems simple, but my mechanic says I need two and it is to small for car. Thousands of cars use these I know, I’m Just confused. . |

Ok, firstly. Ive had this same exact problem, same can almost same setup.
Its very hard to see in your pics, but make sure its connected properly first. If its the wild, the dirty side is connected straight to the drivers side valve cover, the clean side is going into a T connector into my TB. There should be a plug under the blower where the stock pcv was. When they first installed it, on my drive home (90 miles) , the can completely filled to top with oil and caused a smoke fest. I had to tow it back as i want sure what the exact issue was and didn't want to touch anything. In my case, what resolved it was putting in a simple restrictor inside the clean side on the end rifght before it went into the T. I believe its a 1/8 restrictor inside a smaller piece of vacuum tube which is put into the clean side tube. Still has plenty of vaccuum to vent the crankcase, but not pulling in pure raw oil. I also have the speed engineering valve covers which arent baffled as good as stock which also contributed to this. Now, there's very little at the bottom of the can after 100-200 miles, maybe a teaspoon or less. Hope this helps, let me know more on your setup. You should not need 2 cans, something isnt installed right or your simply just pulling too much vaccum like i was. |

Ah.... looked closer at your pics... youve got the same covers as me.. I bet its EXACTLY same problem as me bud.
Get a small 1/8' restrictor like this, put it inside smaller vaccuum tube so it stays snug, then put that piece inside the clean side. |

That i dont, but any parts store should have a 1/8 vaccuum restrictor. Honestly its just a 1/8 - 1/8 adapter, all you want to achieve is to lower the high vaccum that's coming out of thats flowing through that 5/8" hose. The can is under full vaccuum. You want to really only pull 1-3" vaccumm through the can. Im guessing its pure oil pretty much in the can right? |

Very bad, now your SC i loaded with oil and your plugs are probably oil fouled. Get it fixed, dont drive it. You may need a top end cleaning and to replace your plugs. |

I wonder if this is a good idea even if I have the stock valve covers.

I'm wondering if this is just a problem with MM and not Elite.

2 Totallly different designs. The dirty side is huge too, AN10 AN12 depending on HP and the can is supposed to be internally regulated for vacuum but i found out the hard way thats not the case. Also, he has the speed engineering covers, not baffled well. Oil gets sucked right into the dirty side if vacuum is to high. Its only on their new cans they just redesigned and released. A quick fix to restrict vacuum is all it needs. |

It's just another indication MM doesn't really know what they're doing, my Elite E2X has been flawless. I empty it every 3-5k |

This only happens with the aftermarket valve covers since the baffling is obviously not as good as the OEM ones...
